Hampson Industries Plc

Hampson Industries Plc of the United Kingdom is a dynamic International Group serving the global aerospace, automotive and specialist engineering markets.

In 2003 Hampson announced a contract under which Hampson will manufacture the empennage assembly for the Eclipse 500 jet. This agreement represents the largest single contract ever awarded to Hampson and reflects Eclipse Aviation commitment to partner with the most capable suppliers worldwide. The contract has an estimate value of USD 380 million.

In support of the project Hampson have invested in a multi million pound facility at it's Wigan plant to manufacture the detail parts required for the Eclipse Empennage build. An additional facility has been set up in Dallas, Texas to Assemble these parts into large assemblies that are delivered straight the the Eclipse production line in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

To be able to manufacture the parts, Hampson have invested in eight high speed 5 axis machining centres that are required to operate on a continental shift working pattern. This is were PeakStaff were called to help recruit an experienced workforce to operate the machinery and keep labour costs to a minimum.

PeakStaff reacted very quickly to the Hampson request to double it's workforce within 6 weeks and provided an abundance of suitable candidates almost immediately.
